  • I have an SUV, but honestly don't see such a difference between SUVs and minivans. WHy do minivans have such a bad rep ?

    • SUV's have the bad rep. minivans are just thought of as dowdy. but they are much more useful than SUV's and make much more efficient use of space

        • They absolutely do. They have way more room inside except if you are talking about one of the monster SUV's and then those definitely are behemoths that get worse mileage.

        • all of the seats in my minivan (other than front seats) fold into the floor. name an SUV that does that. SUV's are harder for kids to climb into, harder to get to the third row, and have less interior space.

          • i guess, my concern is losing cargo space. I have a mid-sized SUV & would hate to lose any space in the rear

            • But unless you have 6 kids, the minivan has MORE room than a midsized SUV, esp if you get the kind that you can fold down seats either way. We have checked them all out, minivans far more space than an SUV

          • We have an SUV and a minivan (one is basically our station car b/c its old) and they are SO different, you can't even compare.

              • Depends what you need them for. Our minivan has far more space overall, but its old so we don't like to drive it far or the winter. We require a roof rack for the SUV b/c much less space than the van. The van is good for carpools and tooling around to n, shopping ,etc.

            • OP: I was asking why people think SUVs are cool to drive, but minivans are not. They look the same to me.
