  • Dilemma. My dd will not be 3 years old until August. The preschool/daycare that she will be going to in September requires that all the 3 year olds be potty trained. I plan on working on it over the summer, but what if her maturity or body is not ready by then? Anyone btdt?

    • If she's interested/willing then just take the plunge and stop using diapers. Kids her age are fully capable of using the potty.

    • Read "Toilet Training in Less Than a Day"; really they figure it out, don't get into a battle, just go for it. friend trained her uniterested 2.3 yo in under 3 wks (it doe nto actually work in less than a day!)

    • No excuse for a 3 year old not to be, that's why they have the rule

    • She should be all right. My ds turned 3 in November and he was potty-trained the previous August. If not, maybe the preschool will work with you in the beginning to help get dd there.

    • Keep in mind that potty trained does not mean "no accidents". It simply means that they do not want kids in school in diapers who have no clue what a toilet is for.
