  • anybody on who used hypnobirthing? did it work for you?

    • I did for 2 births and it worked wonderfully... better the first time because I'd had more time to practice in the weeks prior to birth

    • Yes, and yes. It's really just a relaxation technique that helps you to visualize and breath and not think about your contractions.

    • I studied it alone through Hypnobabies. Didn't work for me. All went out hte window when I hit transition. I think it works well for people who can easily suspend their disbelief. (i.e. "I'm feeling pressure surges, not pain.") If you're a real criti thinker, it may not work for you.

      • this is why I think I did it by accident - it was my first and I kept telling myself the pain was just starting and it would take HOURS and get much worse. contractions started at 8:30, I got the epi at 11 PM by which point I had dilated to 9!

    • I did hypnobirthing and it worked great for me. I had pitocin and 11 hours of labor with no pain meds and little discomfort. The classes were kind of useless but the cd's were great.
