Thinking of switching from PC to Mac. Do Mac laptops overheat as much as PCs?

- we bought a fan that the laptop sits on. so, yes Macs do heat up

  - my PC actually shuts down. What I am worried about is, getting all my files from PC to Mac. Is it easy to run Windows from Mac?

        you can hit Ctrl-Alt-Del and click on Task Manager when the window pops up. It will show all processes that are running. You can sort to see what are the main offenders. Sounds possibly like spyware.

        fwiw, I'm looking at an hp dv6700t on hp's website. You can customize the specs. I think best value in pc laptops now.

- why are you thinking of switching. I started out on Macs in the 80's, switched to PCs once Windows made the PC as user-friendly and haven't looked back

        had 3 Dells desktops, moved to hp for laptop...but Toshiba and Sony are good too (just better value in hp, I think). Toshiba and Sony shouldn't die like that.

        same as me, and your processor is slightly better. Only thing I can think is that there are a lot of services (or maybe only 1) running in the background that's taxing your CPU
