    • i did, but my drs stats were excellent. you have to take a look at it for yourself and then together with your dr. why judge? it's a personal decision.

    • My friend that is an OB doesn't allow it in her practice. It's a risk and consequence game. Why risk it?? What a ridiculous statement, OP.

    • that is just stupid- and i am all for "natural" births but I can totally see why a mom would choose a 2nd c-section. come on

    • OP here: I meant to say flame. And I wasnt talking about a specific breach baby. Obviously if Dr INSISTS that's one thing. But if mom just doesn want to try it (which is the case in PLENTY of instances) then I think the woman is lame. Why wouldnt you eve WANT to TRY? If you CANT - different story. But if you're unwilling to try, you're lazy/lame.

      • But you don't take into account the woman who labored for 40 hours before her emergency c-section last time. My friend couldn't face going through that again - the disappointment, being in poor physical shape for surgery so having a longer recovery, et It's so stupid to make judgments like this.

        • that's exactly the woman I'm talking about. The woman I know who did it insisted on being induced 2 wks before her due date b/c she was "done" being pg. Then she wondered why she was in labor for 20 hrs and the baby wouldnt come. And then she had to h had to have c-sec. Now is just "sked" her 2nd c-sect b/c she doesnt want to go thru that again; and I think that's lame. Maybe I should have explained that whole part of the story.

          • omg, that's a completely different situation and you're applying it to ALL women who don't want to try a vbac?

    • I'm the poster who asked if anyone regretted it. One of my concerns is weighing my own wants against the risk to the baby. According to my OB, if anything goes awry, I will by fine--they can deal with a rupture. It is the baby who will be at risk.

    • I will definitely consider it, but I don't think it's lame not to want to consider a risk to one's newborn child.

  • ok- let's pretend you have some semblance of intelligance and/or emapathy: if the mom had a c-section the first time (and it wasn't elective), the chances are that her labor was very difficult and quite possibly traumatic. wouldn't it make sense that she might want to stick with the safest and less scary option? you sound like a beyotch. signed, mom who had two kids without drugs but doesn't judge!
