  • I've never stayed at a bed and breakfast. Do you feel like you're literally staying in someone else's house? I'm not sure I like this idea. But I'm tempted to try it.

    • Yeah, you kind of do, and then you eat meals with the owners and other guests, which I hate.

    • depends on the size of the B&B... try out an INN first... kind of like a B&B but bigger

    • I wouldn't care for it. The one time I stayed in 1 our group had th ewhole place rented out, so it wasn't a big deal.

    • I liked how relaxed it was, but there was no TV in room...which was good in that we talked or read, but bad in that we had to go downstairs to watch Survivor. Kind of embarassing. Also, can't have sex cuz everyone will know

    • depends on the B&B, some of them are very large and don't have an on top of you feel. I went to one in maine though that was small, everyone ate around the same table for breakfast and the owner served whatever he wanted, too close for comfort for me, I I hated it

    • Will never do it again. DH and I go away so that we can be alone, and there is always way too much interaction at a B&B.

    • sometimes I enjoy it and sometimes not--depends on whether or not I feel like dealing with people, basically

    • Sometimes. It depends on the BB. One place was more like a small hotel. Another place I had to watch the owner in her robe chewing scrambled eggs with her mouth open.

    • I really didn't like doing the whole small talk with the proprietor. I just wanted to get in and out without having people ask about my day etc. The NY in me I guess.

    • My dh doesn't even like to stay with friends and family so he would detest a b&b.

  • op: OK, this is my DH. When he's away he doesn't want to chit chat w/ anyone but me. Maybe this isn't a great idea.
