  • Finishing out first trimester and feeling oddly reluctant to leave my "safety zones" (apartment, backyard, block, street) even though the weather is lovely and I could use the walk. Normal?

    • not sure if normal, but I never really felt like being out and about when I was pregnant, I turned into a major homebody

    • sounds kind of strange. why are you afraid? too tired? unmotivated? or is it really some fear?

      • Not really a fear--I don't feel scared. I just don't feel like going anywhere or doing anything though I'm happy to entertain at home or go to local restaurants. Like a previous poster said, I'm turning into even more of a homebody.

        • Like for instance, normally I would walk from Cobble Hill through B. Heights to Cadman Plaza and back...but now I don't want to cross Atlantic. Weird, right? I could do it if I had to but I don't feel like it

        • ok. but i would push it a bit. weather is gorgeous, you'll feel better for it, sleep better at night, etc. what about a "reward" that's in a different neighborhood?

          • Can't think of any rewards, but I know I should make myself do it. Maybe I will have more energy in the 2nd trimester? I just feel so apathetic right now

            • it's ok. it's fine. what about grabbing a book and your sunglasses and going to sit on the promenade for an hour?

              • Conference call at 4:30 (WAHM) but that sounds divine otherwise. I know what I will do tomorrow, anyway. Thanks for the support.

      • Very reassuring, thank you. Everyone keeps saying I'll feel like a different person in a few weeks, but I'm so used to feeling tired and sick that I can't even remember what it's like to be normal.
