  • I send my asd ds to a special needs school so he can make friends. He may not excel as much academically but at least he has friends and a good social network as opposed to being ostracized by the nt kids in a mainstream school.

        • Well, I would bet that their skills have little to do with school and all to do with aptitude toward a specific subject. My child has other SN issues, but all the ASD kids I know have specific strengths - ones that they study and excel in without a teacher.
