  • married to dh #2. I am friends with several mothers of dd's friends. One of the moms asked me if I didn't feel too old to be "starting all over". She was referring to the fact that I am pregnant. I pointed out that I am now 1 year older than when had her first dc (our kids are 7). She was so mortified. Was I way out of line?

      • I am about 6 years younger than most of these moms (and I am not young). my 7 yo is from dh#1 so, of course, I was married, got divorced and then got pregnant. I guess it isn't so relevant.

      • However, she COULD have just been referring to a return to babyhood--your kid IS old to just now be having a newborn (my sister is 8 yrs younger, so my mom got alot of comments)

    • Youknow, she may have just meant starting all over just in that whenever you have a new baby you are starting all over at the begining--diapers, bf'ing, etc., so your comment was out of line in that case

      • OP: but she was "starting" when she was 1 year younger than I am. I just thought it was a little snide. I know she was probably thinking I am her age but she does know how old I am.
