  • I got up early to do some freelance work - saw a couple of new pdf files on my desktop. I know our live-in nanny has been using my computer lately - not a problem, but when I opened the pdfs, thinking my kids must have downloaded coloring pages, they turn ed out to be for courses in medical billing/radiology training. Lately my nanny's been asking to use the car at night and often returning late - she's said she was going to the gym, but I've been wondering what gym is open till midnight. I understand she can do whatever she wants. But she's been here for 6 mos and these courses look like you get certified by the end of this semester. This means she might be leaving us then, and I WOH - my childcare arrangements are very important. Do I have a right to tell her I saw the course stuff and to ask her what her plans for the rest of the year are? If she's leaving I need to start thinking about it.

    • yes - be supportive (tell her what an exciting career it looks like and how great she'll be ) but explain to her that you need to know what her plans are so you casn make proper arrangements. theres nothing wrong here - on either side. it's just life. good luck!
