  • augh. I've been doing CIO with db, it's working well but slowly (2+ weeks, not perfect yet). Now I think she's getting sick. I went in and gave tylenol, cuddles. She settled back down, but is crying 3 min every ~15 min, very quiety. What to do? I could go in because she's sick, but that kind of just ramps her up more. but then, i don't want to leave her alone and miserable either.

    • I think you are not supposed to do cio when they are sick or teething.. They need comfort.

      • OP: I know, ITA. That's why I went in. but these crying bursts are so quiet and low that I think i'd just be irritating her if I went in. she's definitely a kid who gets more stimulated by being held andcuddled. not trying to teach her anything now, I just don't know the fastest or best way to help her fall asleep more solidly.

    • NP: I wish I had some advice to give. I would make sure that you don't think she's sick b/c you want to stop CIO (I am guilty of this). And try to stay tough. Sigh. It's the hardest thing EVER.

      • OP: thanks. no, she was sneezing all day, 3 bad diapers, and felt a little feverish when I went in. but i definitely feel conflicted, even though it's the only thing that's worked for her sleep.

        • It took a month for my DD to get it down, and then I've recently ruined it again by going in and giving comfort when I shouldn't have. Good luck with what to do, I would have a hard time not going in, but you risk ruining all your hard work. :(
