From Beacon Hill, walk down Charles Street, through the Public Garden to the statue of George Washington, and down Commonwealth Ave to about Gloucester. Turn right to walk through the residential neighborhood, or turn left to walk up to Newbury Street to shop or eat. [ Reply | More ]

[ - ] My nanny was walking while carrying my 10 month old and she was hit by a car crossing a driveway. The driver didn't see her. Fortunately she was only bumped, and the baby isn't hurt at all. She hurt her elbow and leg and will be recovering for 6 weeks. I just hired her in January, and I'm still learning to trust her. While I know the accident wasn't really her fault, I can't decide if I should replace her or not. She has done a couple things in the past which questioned safety for the baby. I'm impressed she was able to hold the baby in such a way that he didn't get hurt when she fell. I feel very conflicted. What would you do? Give her another chance or hire someone else? 9 Replies [ Reply | Watch | More ]

Here are the ones that I know: both of the men work in finance. Both of the women are very beautiful, slender blondes. One works in fashion, the other one works in the arts. People on this site probably wouldn't consider them "poster couples" just bc none of them went to "TT" schools for undergrad. But, idk, I just haven't really met any double Ivy grads that seem like poster couples (at least not yet). These two pairs are the ones that I think of first. They are so beautiful and sparkly. I generally agree unless you met really young. I met DH at 22, we got married at 28. It wasn't a matter of figuring things out i just wouldn't have wanted to get married at 22. I'm not to need an example of a person who became a multimillionaire through tragedy. I assure you it's the exception. I got a large settlement, but my lawyer too his cut, my insurance took the largest cut (my bills were about 700K) and I was left with about 200K. My daughter was 1, and I couldn't pick her up/care for her alone for a year. Sure if I had been hit head on by a personal vehicle or an uninsured motorist there wouldn't have been as much/any money to go after, but that doesn't mean I benefited. [ Reply | More ]

The Willis family - they got 100 million for their car accident that killed 6 of their children. Settlement from the city of Chicago. [ Reply | More ]

Their lawyer probably got 33 million. And I'm sure they are so much happier with that money than their kids. [ Reply | More ]

The poster specifically asked for an example of someone who became a multimillionaire through tragedy. Don't shit all over me with some moral argument out of left field. I'm sure they didn't refuse the money, and I'm sure Madonna Badger and the Krims miss their children as much as the Willis family. You're also almost certainly right about the lawyers. It just seems like an odd group of people to take a stand against. Maybe the lawyers, but 'shitting' as you so eloquently stated, on the victims seems odd. Can you possibly be jealous of them? [ Reply | More ]

+1. People don't usually make out after a tragedy. This, like the myth of the welfare queen, is made up by fortunate people who don't think the lives of people below them are worth as much as theirs. [ Reply | More ]

Pp: oh, well if you have sensitive or acne prone skin, then you must surely be aware of it by now!! If that is the case, do NOT put body lotion on your face. Buy face lotion formulated for acne prone skin. Cetaphil is actually a very good, readily available brand. [ Reply | More ]

Thanks. I don't have super sensitive skin, but I get a few zits near my period. Didn't feeling like leaving to buy face lotion, so I thought I'd ask if body lotion would be okay. Maybe I'll hold off. [ Reply | More ]
