It's a struggle. Mil wants to maintain her household and life exactly as it was before. It basically falls on DH to make it happen. She's lonely and expects DH to be there for her all the time (but not dcs or me, just wants him) and financially clueless. DH is taking care of her, it's kind of like having an entitled teenager living on her own yet depending on you for everything. [ Reply | More ]

"I have it in front of me. Time magazine, Drudge Report, CNBC, The Hill, CBS — the only one that has Hillary winning is CNN, and they are the 'Clinton News Network,'" host Sean Hannity told millions of viewers. Not only did CBS not conduct a poll, but Hannity strongly implied that the unscientific online polls were more accurate than the CNN/ORC poll, a patently false claim. “They surveyed — these other ones have hundreds of thousands if not millions” of participants, Hannity said of the polls. [ - ] My ILs didn't invite my mother to the 60th b-day party. My father passed away a couple years before that point and my ILs didn't go to the funeral (they had good reason). My mother was very hurt by the lack of invitation to the b-day party and ILs claimed that they didn't want to make her feel obligated as she is out of state. Now FF 10 years and they are clearly not planning to invite her to the 70th which is much smaller (20 guests) than the 60th party was but 1/2 of the guests are friends from out of state. Do I try to keep this a secret from my mom? Do I tell dh to tell his parents to invite? 30 Replies [ Reply | Watch | More ]

It was like living facebook, I was convinced that everyone was getting together and having a blast without me. Elementary school is so incestuous and parents are so "involved" in so many ways.I also found it to be more stressful for my kids because they were stuck in one class, with one group of kids, only to see other kids at recess (which is clicky enough). Once my older kid hit middle school it was such a relief for all of us. My youngest kid is in the last year of elementary and I can't wait for her to be finished. [ Reply | More ]

everyone is different. what makes YOU feel better is not the same as someone else. i think that if you are going to be vegan, you need to be a lot more conscientious about getting proper nutrition, it's not as simple as "not eating animal products and just eating whatever other fruits/veggies/etc you ate before". certain nutrients like B12 are hard to get sufficient wo supplements. you need to make sure you're eating protein, healthy fats, etc. if your body is deficient in a nutrient and then you eat something with it (say red meat for B12) you WILL feel better, but it's not about eating meat per se. not advocating vegan, just saying. [ - ] Just read the circumcision debate thread on most popular. Ladies, if you didn't circumcise your son, know that you pretty much just cut his chances of receiving oral by 30%. You more or less ruined his sex life. I mean, when he's at Duke, and Netflix & chilling with Kappa Kappa Gamma Katie or Tri-Delt Denise, do you really think these girls are going to be OK with going down on a slimy Euro cheese snake? It's an "Eww." and "We're through." scenario. Enjoy your son's complex. 10 Replies [ Reply | Watch | More ]

Am I the only one that finds this argument absurd coming from someone who is running for the job of running the country -- the country that can only operate with tax dollars? Under his logic, if people were smart, there would be no government at all because no one would pay taxes. If that is how he feels, why isn't he running on a platform of abolishing all taxes, shutting down the government, close the FBI, disband our armed forces etc? [ Reply | More ]
