[ - ] I posted Friday evening about my dh giving me the silent treatment and passive aggressively cleaning the house. Well, he finally told me last night why he was pissed at me. " I came home from work and it boggled my mind that you were sitting in a big mess, I understand that you had some major dental work done, but you should've came home the night before and cleaned I instead of going out with you softball team to have a beer." fyi, my dh is the king of abandoning responsibilities for fun, and I'm right now making a list of all the things I do for our home so he can Stfu! Fucking hypocrite. 5 Replies [ Reply | Watch | More ]

[ - ] It's kind of crazy how much places change. I'm an oldie so I remember when NYC was filled with prostitutes and cocaine and many places that are "fancy" now with moms wearing lululemon and raising their well dressed children used to be places where you wouldn't dream of going after 9pm. Same with DC. Places where beer gardens and yoga and expensive baby stores are now used to be coke houses. I remember it all so clearly and going to those places now kind of makes me laugh. 5 Replies [ Reply | Watch | More ]

[ - ] CLOSE CALL !! We went grocery shopping this morning and dd likes to bring in the bags and put things away. She left the door open to my SUV in the driveway, and when I went outside a little later I closed it. Just now inside the house we were calling the cat because we bought cat treats. Cat is nowhere. You guessed it, cat got out while she was bringing in the bags and hopped into the car. I was not planning to go anywhere else today and the cat certainly would have been dead by tomorrow. [ - ] Re-post - sorry, have to figure this out! About to go to California - Should we go to Universal or Disneyland with my 2 boys - ages 9 and (almost) 8. They have never been to a Disney park and, this may be their only opportunity. They like rides but, have never really been on big rollercoasters and, might be scared of them (not sure) and aren't that into Disney characters. They love Harry Potter so, might really like that for Universal. Just can't decide and won't do both while on vacation. Thoughts? It's such an expensive and tiring day, I want to make the right decision. We live near some big amusement parks and can go to them for great rides in the near future, don't want to do Disney just for that... 6 Replies [ Reply | Watch | More ]

We did Universal last month (one day) with my ~ 5yo son. He does not like big rides and is not really into disney characters right now but LOVES harry potter. We had an amazing time. So glad we scrapped our original plans to go to Disney (although, we have been to Disney before for 1 day and then for 2 days and will go to Disney again at some point in the future) [ Reply | More ]

First of all, you are making way too big a deal out of this. At those ages, it is not that expensive and tiring. If this may be their only opportunity ever to go to Disney, take them to Disney. They'll have fun, even if they don't go on any big rollercoasters. That said, you really could do both. Bring food in and you'll only spend on tickets. Like you said, you can always take them to Six Flags for rides. Universal is fun but not nearly as big of a deal as Disneyland. [ Reply | More ]

well, it won't break the bank but, it will be a $6/700 day - it's over $400 just for tickets to each of them. We won't bring in food so, there's that. It will be a while before we get to S. Cali again (we're from the East Coast) and, I have no interest in going to Orlando. These sorts of vacations are what kids remember for a long time - I still remember going to Disney once when I was young. like I said, just trying to make the right decision, not actually losing sleep over it or anything. I'm the PP and I disagree, but maybe it's because I am not a huge fan of disney -- but for 2 older boys who aren't into Mickey and who dont love big roller coasters, I would do Universal. I only have experience with the Orlando parks but I would say one day at Universal (or 2 days) and one day at Epcot (do they have that in CA?) and skip MK. [ Reply | More ]
