[ - ] Must read: The Washington Post guy, David somebody, who has been investigating the Trump Foundation for the last few months. I think he will win a Pulitzer Prize. He has repeatedly shown it is a complete sham and now he has shown it is not even registered. I bet the NY AG shuts in down within two weeks for that. I think you have to be a registered user but it is appearing all over now......I love the NYT but this guy's reporting is the most important of the campaign. 8 Replies [ Reply | Watch | More ]

Nope. I just always wish that karma will hit them hard. I had a good friend who went after an ex boyfriend of mine just weeks after we broke up. It was a long term relationship and it hit me really hard. Nothing I could do about it and obviously he made his choice there too. It was just tough losing a relationship and then a friendship shortly after. I don't wish anything bad on them. I kept asking him to talk to me about it. He said nothing. He started sleeping on the sofa. I asked him if he was having an affair. I went crazy looking through his emails and phone records. I found nothing. He would stay at work until 9pm, sleep on the sofa and then go to work. I finally asked him if he were gay. I just knew that something was up. Either he was gay or he was having an affair. We had a huge fight, I went to my mother's funeral alone, I slept with an ex boyfriend and I came home. I don't know how he found out about this now, but I am wondering if I was correct years ago. [ Reply | More ]

It is what it is. Most nannies are paid more than they would be in another job, it is paid like a salary rather than on a punch the clock basis and most people vacation more than two weeks per year, which is what the nanny would be entitled to in an hourly punch the clock job. [ Reply | More ]

They are fundamentally coops from an apartment ownership prospective- it's just that above the co-op there is a condo structure usually involving the residential coop plus the retail space owner where they can hash out details about structural elements. Resale can be an issue because potential buyers dont want to bother understanding the issues. [ Reply | More ]

[ - ] I think 5 yo dd would enjoy hearing a chapter book read aloud. Any recommendations for a good first book without pictures? I was thinking maybe Matilda or Pippi Longstocking... 22 Replies [ Reply | Watch | More ]

^^and Roahl Dahl. Start with the small ones like the crocodile (can't remember name), and then George's marvelous medicine is great. [ Reply | More ]

I'm the OR. My DD listed it as her favorite book for 3 years running when asked at the beginning of the school year. We probably read it and its sequel 3 times each when she was little. (NB - I can't remember which one it is in, but read the Christmas chapter by yourself first and decide if you need to modify it in anyway when you read it outloud. I can't remember exactly, but "Santa" is a bit different in Sweden, and I can't recall if the book gives it away). [ Reply | More ]

I must have read it 20 times as a kid. I thought she had the best life -- neighbor kids to play with everyday, making gingersnaps for Christmas and riding in a sleigh...I need to go read it again. [ Reply | More ]

Judith Viorst 's Lulu books are sort of a bridge between picture and chapter books. My kids really liked the brontosaurus one. [ Reply | More ]

op: So I *love* this one, but I started to reread it and I think I need to build up my acting skills (and dd's listening skills) before I try the Little House Books with her. I really really want her to love them and I think she might not be gripped by it quickly enough at this point. :) [ Reply | More ]

I think they work better for the 7 year old range. there are some lovely, sweet picture books based on the little house series. (and then some adorable paper doll sets based on the picture books). [ Reply | More ]

You never know! My parents read it to me when I was around that age and I could read it myself by 1st grade. I LOVED those books - I must have read them 20 times as a child. [ Reply | More ]

The Judy Blume Fudge books are also great read alouds. (They are also great on audible). They are super fun to read as an adult because you get to enjoy the parental aspects of the book. The chapter on Fudge's birthday party slays me every time. [ Reply | More ]
