[ - ] Black Lives matter has unleashed hell upon the city of Milwaukee! The shooter was an African American cop, and the criminal he shot was armed. But that doesn't stop Black Lives Matter from burning down the city. 7 Replies [ Reply | Watch | More ]

Thugs emboldened by Black Lives matter are on a killing spree, The FBI will release the figures in its annual Uniform Crime Report in September or October, but various surveys and studies have predicted up to a 17% leap in murder in 2015 compared to 2014 - the biggest such year-on-year rise in several decades. It's different because medical school generally has a decent ROI. What you're doing is more like shipping your kid to LA and paying for everything in the hopes of them starring in a movie. It's more likely that the flounder and end up with drug problems and/or in porn. [ Reply | More ]

I don't think art is as simple as "ROI." I think good art is priceless. And I want to help him make good art. It's hard to make good art when you're worrying about making the rent. I certainly don't think he's doing drugs or porn. [ Reply | More ]

Then don't compare it to medical school. If you don't think that you can make art while worrying about rent I would recommend that you learn about all the people who have done more than your son will, and with less. Excess can be a hindrance. [ Reply | More ]

Except, your son won't be a Dr. at the end of this. And - most students go into debt for medical school. What do you think other artists do? Do you truly think that without your support he couldn't possibly be an artist? If that's the case, then it's not the right field for him. He should have the grit, on his own, to make this work. You helping him out is only holding him back. And, fwiw, $1,000/month is more than enough to survive in NYC. Metrocard, groceries, the essentials. [ Reply | More ]

Brown told officials he saw Da’Shaun Taylor, then 16 years old, and several other men “sexually abusing Brittanee Drexel.” Brown then said he walked to the backyard of the house to give money to Taylor’s father, Shaun Taylor. But as Brown and Shaun Taylor talked, Brittanee tried to make a break for it. Her escape attempt was in vain, however, and one of the captors “pistol-whipped” Drexel and carried her back inside the house. [ Reply | More ]

Just saying, people are getting hysterical these days. Violent crime overall in the US has been plummeting since the 1970s. Anyone remember how many serial killers were operating in the 70s and 80s? How bad NYC was in the 70s? This version of the US that's been peddled by foreign governments to knock safety in the US and is now being pushed by Trump to scare people into voting for him is a bunch of crap. [ Reply | More ]

You know the reason foreign governments are criticizing safety in the U.S.? It's because white middle Americans are being conditioned to be afraid of black and brown people - particularly foreign ones. The threat is more from ignorant little hotel clerks who think there's an ISIS in the lobby using 2 cell phones to make jihad when it's just an Emirati businessman than your average muslim American, who is just working like anyone else. Don't get me started on all the people who are "murdered" by illegal immigrants because they got into a car accident with one. [ Reply | More ]

The national murder rate. The FBI will release the figures in its annual Uniform Crime Report in September or October, but various surveys and studies have predicted up to a 17% leap in murder in 2015 compared to 2014 - the biggest such year-on-year rise in several decades. And this is in a country where the murder rate was 4 to 5 times higher than the developed-world average to begin with! [ Reply | More ]

There are always freak things that happen. Seems to me that the chance of something terrible happening on a flight is much, much, less than something happening to a 16 yo driving (which most 16 yos do) [ Reply | More ]

They should all have had a change of clothes with them. That's normal travel 101. Also, I would never have given up my passport. What the airline did was wrong, but my kid would have yelled and called me and basically would not have given up the passport. Were they traveling on their own, or as Unaccompanied Minors? This is why I prefer to travel on their own rather than as minors with the airline. [ Reply | More ]

You are right about many things, but I'm not sure you can count on the average 14 yo to put up a fight if the airline wants to take the passport, unless you specifically prepped them not to do that. [ Reply | More ]

All of uoh saying thst your kids wools never have given up his or her passport would just like to believe that. In a situation still within the US where someone likely authoritative snd maybe even accompanied by a TSA agent is telling an entire group thst this is how it is and they are all clearly together in the United lounge (or whatever airline), don't be so confident that they would have flouted the apparent authority of the person in charge. Out of thr US, their radars would have been up but I'm NY so sure about inside the Us. It was likely even presented as being for their safety [ Reply | More ]

Yes, for sure answer it! Weave in something that you think will help your application (ie you're diverse because you never lived in a city before and never thought you'd have an opportunity to send your child to a preschool with these kind of students, blah blah). If you leave it blank you seem like you don't care. [ Reply | More ]
