Never. My mom died when I was 35 and my dad remarried a mean witch 18 months later. I felt like an orphan after that. She tried to tear him away from our family and all our traditions we had our entire life. It was torture. Took a few years to get over it, but really messed with all of us. Met a divorced guy who owned an Italian restaurant. Seemed a little rough around the edges, but funny. Then I googled him and found a crazy story from an archived 80s newspaper where he turned out to have been the sole survivor of some kind of home-based drug deal that went wrong, he was shot and dove out a window to run for help, police came and there was a hostage standoff. His friend and the homeowner were killed. I decided it was a little too crazy for me. [ Reply | More ]

My dcs love preschool. I'm the one who posted earlier about ramping up. They are 2 and 4 and always beg to stay extra late (they already stay late till 3 but there is after care till 5) and beg to go on Fridays (my day off). They blab all about their wonderful day and their friends on the way home. My 2 yo didn't speak much, has been in preschool for 2 weeks, and is talking talking away, and sleeping so much better. That said - I was a total introvert and would've hated that! But if dc is active and/or loves being around other kids, go for it. [ Reply | More ]

I think nanny is better b/c kids get sick etc. I prefer kids to be in their own home rather than spend 10 hours or more at a daycare with screaming crying kids all the time. [ Reply | More ]
