More detail - the Cyrillic spelling is "Семён". It's the Slavic form of "Simon" or "Simeon," more or less. [ Reply | More ]

Hmm... I think my snowflake is a genius who can do everything your kid can do, but she's nearly 4. Heh. Hate to say it but I think there are some profoundly gifted moms on this board who could help you more than the night crew. They usually refer moms to the Davidson Institute IIRC [ Reply | More ]

Don't do anything crazy, just let her enjoy being a little kid and make friends. If she's truly bright she will figure things out. IMO at such a young age it's more important to give her the space to explore and ask questions imho. Let her enjoy learning wih family and teachers in a social context and on her own... So she associates learning and progress with fun and positive feelings. When she expresses interest in a subject or concept give her plenty of opportunities to explore. Start researching school options and how to apply etc. so you know what you need to do as a parent to go through the process. [ Reply | More ]

I had four brothers, that doesn't bother me so much (DH is another story). I'm upset that I had to physically intervene, it should have stopped the second I walked into the room. [ Reply | More ]
