I totally sympathize with you. I'm the same way. It was tough after having a baby but just like everything else, you get used to the fact that it's no longer about you and what you want. I just dealt with it and as she got older I had more alone time. It might be worse if you are home with the baby and don't have any help - at least at work you can shut your office door or have lunch alone (assuming). [ Reply | More ]

Sounds like you're an introvert, there's nothing wrong with that. I'm very similar in that it takes me some time to recover from being around people a lot. Can you ask DH to take care of the baby for a few hours on the weekend each week so you can get "you time" doing whatever you want? It sounds like you may just be feeling over-extended from work and caring for a new baby. [ Reply | More ]

I'm a bit like this. I require a certain amount of alone time. I take baths at night and read a book. Unless the house is on fire, no one is allowed to interrupt me. I think especially when you work and have a baby, it's very hard to carve out time for yourself, but make it a priority and see how you feel. For me, having a baby amplified my need for alone time because meeting the needs of someone else can be tiring. [ Reply | More ]
