I'm out of the game because my kids are grown but yes, I see it as being a debate these days. Most moms (at least to me) seem comfortable with doing what their DH's are comfortable with. By someone who bought a gun that was manufactured by a billionaire donor to the Republican Party. So of course, there will be lots of guns so the next person will die in a crime. This has nothing to do with race, it has to do with gun control. What happened when Adam Lanza shot 20+ 6 year olds? Did the doctor test to see what bacterial strain either of you had? My concern would be what another poster mentioned below: the two of you (and possibly dc) may be colonized with a more problematic strain of something. [ Reply | More ]

Then it may not be MRSA but it could still be another strain of Staph aureus or Group A Strep. The fact that you and your husband both have boils makes me suspect that you are colonized. Beyond this, it's safest to ask your own MD. [ Reply | More ]

Either way the reality is that the woman is making no $ bc she and her husband decided it was better to have her stay home for the family, and the woman wants to spend $ on stuff which is fine because who doesnt want or need to do that. I don't understand the give me money thing either, because DH and I live separately but share the same accounts. I just spend whatever and he spends whatever. I think the idea is that the DH is saying "oh i did exceptionally well this year, why dont you treat yourself to something special by spending this $50k on whatever you please that is over and above waht you normally get" . the part that is weird to me is that it kind of implies that the woman is like clueless otherwise and would otherwise spend 500k on birkin bags in a year where her husbands job is in jeopardy or somethng. in my world if my husband gets a huge bonus i will just "loosen the purse strings" a bit (no pun intended) and perhaps splurge a little. I do not ask him, and he does not allocate me money. Its just that i have an awareness of if we are feeling very rich currently vs feeling like we want to save more [ Reply | More ]

[ - ] Wife of fat DH here with another update. He was at 184.1 lbs last week, and weighed in at 182.8 lbs this week. Only a 1.3 lb drop, which is somewhat below where we'd like him to be. To recap, we started out on March 10 when he was 205.6lbs, at 5'8". But if he can pick up the pace a bit and get persistently below 180 in the next couple weeks, it will be the first time he has done that since 2011, so that would be good. 10 Replies [ Reply | Watch | More ]

Well, I think it would depend on their particular relationship and how they interact with one another. Men are different, and this is a big lesson of life. They aren't motivated like we are. They need that whole "gruff football coach" thing to get them going; they love challenges and being part of an important project. So if I yell "hey fatso, hit the weights!" at him, he's not going to take it the same way that I would take it if he yelled that at me. Now just to be clear, I DON'T yell that at him, but you have to be mindful of the underlying psychology. I majored in psych in college, and it taught me much about nature and motivation. They are adding 125-175 new fracking wells in the state each month (on fault lines). I wish Californians would be as vocal about anti-fracking as New York was, but nobody seems to know about it out here. 25 Replies [ Reply | Watch | More ]

It should definitely ban it. Not only it takes water during a huge draught. It also contaminates underground water others rely on.
