Why would we not want to let refugees into the country ??? These are human beings who are living in hell due to no fault of their own. Men, women and children who are being killed every day. Babies !!! I want to live in a country where we have the humanity to help these people. We are so damned privileged to live in the US and all of us are descended from people who came from somewhere else first. The US does not "belong" to any one group of people. You posters who keep talking about refugee crime are MONSTERS. We should open up and welcome as many of these people as we can handle, which is a number far greater than what we currently admit. Hillary wants to save lives - all lives. [ Reply | More ]

[ - ] Advice please! I have a single friend who wants to spend more time together than I want to. DH is away on business a lot, so I am often on my own, so don't have that excuse. DC is at college. I prefer to get together with her once, maybe twice a week, and for a single activity - she is the type that if you meet for brunch she then expects to spend the whole day together - like when we were younger. I have outgrown that and need alone time. She is a touch sensitive, so I just don't feel comfortable telling her I need alone time - but I do like her and want to keep her as a friend. How do I keep it to once a week or so and not hurt her feelings? 7 Replies [ Reply | Watch | More ]

Can you be honest? Most of my friends know that while I am social, I am at heat an introvert, so if I say I need to hibernate, they get it. Start planting seeds with her about how much you appreciate your solitude, the more she hears it, hopefully the more she will understand that you not wanting to do something has nothing to do with her. Your best bet would be to find a terminal masters program from a NYC-based school that will accept the majority of the credits towards a PhD if admitted. Generally, there will be 1-3 courses that won't transfer to PhD, but that way, once you internally transfer, you'll only have maybe a year's worth of courses and the rest of the time towards dissertation. BTDT at NYU. BTW, you don't pay for a PhD from a top school. [ Reply | More ]

She wants to bring them here to create another voter base to support the democrats, and drive down wages if any of them ever qualify to get a job. It doesn't matter, she will just use taxpayer dollars to support them. It's a win/win for her. Of course there will be sexual assaults, radicalization, terrorist attacks, and demand for religious special treatment. Then if anyone complains, she can call them xenophobic, islamophobic racists, and sic her social justice warriors on them to shut them up. [ Reply | More ]

Here's an idea...Maybe they just shouldn't bring them here. I really don't see an upside to letting them in. They will be a huge burden on the taxpayers, they don't fit in culturally and will cause the same problems we see in Europe. The only reason they are coming is to strengthen the democratic voting block, and lower wages or take jobs from Americans who are already under or unemployed. I'm unclear why Democratic politicians aspire to be like Europe? It sucks there now. [ Reply | More ]

We don't think he's gay because of the celibacy thing, it's a lot of different things. She's sort of vague, but she has alluded to sex issues and also she thinks he works more than he needs to (will leave events or meals to go back to work, he is big law though so I think maybe she didn't realize how bad that can be). We looked at both Chappaqua and Larchmont. Bid on houses in Larchmont. Focused upon houses walking distance to the train, but never won the bids. I liked the town in Larchmont, ability to walk to train, and proximity to NY. I toured the middle and high schools. The high school is Mamaroneck, which is only rated 7 on Great Schools, it actually seemed great to me, not sure why it scores lower. That said, the taxes in Larchmont are INSANE and for that money there is no school bus, which is tough on working parents. I liked Chappaqua, but seemed to far for me as mom working in NY. Taxes more reasonable (but still expensive) in Chappaqua and you get more land for your money. I think the hi8gh school in Chappaqua is a little more of a pressure cooker, but I never toured it.
