[ - ] Are there any Catholics on? We're hosting family for Easter, 4 nights. DH's brother, his wife and 3 young kids who are Catholic. We're Protestant and asked them which Easter service is better for them 9:30am or 11:00am. We'd figure we'd all go together as family. SIL response, "Oh we're going to find a Cathlic Church so we can go to mass. We don't want to go to your church." I haven't responded yet. But when we go to stay with them, we attend mass at their church out of respect and because we think it's no big deal. np: There are some differences in the meaning of the Mass. Catholics believe the consecrated host is the body of Christ. Non-Catholics believe it represents, in a symbolic way, the body of Christ. That's the most fundamental difference. That is why a Catholic might feel that attending a Protestant service on Easter Sunday doesn't "count." It's not meant in a belittling way, but that it doesn't satisfy their spiritual needs. [ Reply | More ]

Seriously. If this is a real question, then Google it. Otherwise, you're either trolling... or dumb enough to gamble and hope you'll get anything but racist, dumb and/or ill-informed replies. [ Reply | More ]

[ - ] Yesterday before work I was contemplating the endless stream of days ahead of me where I do the same routine getting there, doing my job, coming home. Then I got a text last night that an emergency con ed crew was called to the building next door for a massive gas leak. Holy God. What a wake up call. 6 Replies [ Reply | Watch | More ]

Amen. What's so crazy is a year ago I had the most vivid dream out building collapsed in some kind of explosion. In the dream I thought it was a terrorist attack. My office buddy is actually an old friend too and right as we were in the rubble in the last moments I said "I love you Matthew!" and he's said "I know." He's a hilarious gay dude. [ Reply | More ]

OP yes I totally agree - I didn't mean to characterize my routine as negative. As someone who's had a number of high stress jobs, in quite happy with my predictable routine! [ Reply | More ]
