I do this all the time, I always have plans to make sushi and somehow never get around to it. The insides separate from the outer shell and darken. They need to be like 1 day away from purchase for sushi. At least three times this year I've just scooped them all out into a tupperware container and tossed them into the freezer, for who knows what. Soup thickener? I don't know. I just can't throw them out. The poster here who says frozen avocado is great is always in the back of my mind. [ Reply | More ]

op: he started the business before we were married. He's not making it look like he's losing money, he's just making it such that his stock dividend payouts (a majority of our money) are no longer paying dividends since he's choosing as CEO to "reinvest" that money into the business for xyz project. How convenient, right? Is there anything that can be done to prevent this? No judge can tell him how to run his business, so the fact that it's unethical doesn't mean anything. Is there any legal loophole where I can stop him from doing this? [ Reply | More ]

np: talk to your lawyer - sudden salary cut post-separation when he controls the salary is pretty obvious. it IS illegal to run personal expenses through a business. but the quesiton is, are you willing to out him to the IRS in order to achieve your objective. [ Reply | More ]

op: he really doesn't have any expenses. He'll just put what would be his profits from the stock equity (a majority of what we are used to living on) back into the business and make an executive decision to not pay stock holders dividends anymore and to reinvest all the money for xyz project. This is not illegal. There is even a pattern of him doing this a few times for certain projects, so it even looks legit to the outside world when in reality he's doing it so that he can pay me less money. If you haven't yet started divorce procedures, can you start husbanding money into a discreet checking account just in your name? [ Reply | More ]

op: yes, but it wouldn't be much money compared to what he is siphoning away by not paying out stock dividends and choosing to "reinvest" all the money in the company (ie waiting until I'm out of the picture before he starts paying himself higher amounts beyond his basic salary again) [ Reply | More ]

[ - ] Any current or former delicatessen workers here? Wondering why they wrap the sandwiches in so many layers? Seems like tin foil alone would do that job. What does the extra paper/wax paper do? 1 Reply [ Reply | Watch | More ]

Just me, but I think it 1. pushes all the ingredients together; 2. keeps the sandwich together better; and 3. it makes the product look less like something you could make in your own kitchen for 1/5 of the cost. [ Reply | More ]
