[ - ] S/O on LaGuardia post: I went there in the 80's. At that time it was ONLY about talent. I remember a boy who was in my art group-- the testers were quizzing him about his terrible grades and absences. But--he was an amazing artist and sure enough that fall there he was. And the school turned him around, he got a full ride at RISD. I think LaGuardia was conceived to be that kind of school--NOT for the academically inclined who also happen to be a little arty. It was an extraordinary place then-- 4 Replies [ Reply | Watch | More ]

np-when parents flee their homes and families, I assume they do it because their lives are that bad in their home country. If you absolutely HAD to emigrate to provide a safe life for your children, would you do it? I don't condone illegal border crossing, but it has already happened. So many kids have been brought here, and have grown up here, with no say in the matter. I find it cruel to just ship them back to a place they don't recognize as home, and to a worse future. He says he wants to go see Birdman and get dinner beforehand. His idea, he should plan it, right? Well actually he wanted to see interstellar but all tickets sold out for iMax except front row. So then Birdman is next choice. Says there's a theater near his place so I assume he will also plan dinner as I don't know his neighborhood well. Nope. Friday afternoon he tells me he got tickets for a Manhattan theater for 10:35 and then I am left scrambling for a reservation. Not the end of the world. But now he wants to take a trip together. If he mentions a restaurant I guess you could say 'do you want me to make a call to book it?' or if he's talking about a trip i guess you could suggest bookign the hotel, you don't need to prepay, you can just email hotels for a reservation, often if you suggest you can get it online for a certain rate you can book direct with that rate wiht a credit card (yours) to hold but not charge until check out (his). It's all relative and I should feel fortunate, but I haven't even been able to go for a run or do anything for me. I just want to cry and scream. OK, have a lovely evening! 26 Replies [ Reply | Watch | More ]

Why is work so busy? Can you Cut back so you can spend more time with your children? [ Reply | More ]

How do you suggest I cut back? Work is busy because we are understaffed and spread too thin. It's recognized as a companywide issue and management does not seem to care to address it, yet several valuable employees have recently left. [ Reply | More ]

[ - ] Pregnant with my first. I'm guess women are too damn tired after birth to want to change into a nice top for photos? Or the hospital won't allow it? I am definitely not posting photos of me in a hospital gown so I am just wondering when the opportunity for a properly dressed photo will come? 12 Replies [ Reply | Watch | More ]

I doubt that you'll care so much after you give birth. The joy, wonder, exhilaration will make your fashion sense seem oh so far away. [ Reply | More ]

Ok thank you. I think a pic of just the baby will be sufficient for the first day. We have a ton of family anxiously awaiting this baby. But as I look at recent uploads on FB of people I know I realize I do not want that kind of photo of me out there on the web!!! [ Reply | More ]

I got decent looking nursing pjs. The first day, I couldn't be bothered to change. But really at some point you do want to get dressed and showered. Many hospitals allow a photography service in, so day 2 is a good time to do that. But bring a robe and/or nice sweater anyway - the rooms get cold! - and just throw it on over your hospital gown. (Btw, it's not so much that you're tired as that it's kind of messy and better to be in a hospital gown.) Congratuations..>.! [ Reply | More ]

It's not about the hospital gown. You will want to capture the moment. Take my advice, throw on some powder, blush and lip gloss, brush your hair, make sure your gown is CLOSED and sit up. It's the reclining photos that are unflattering. Hello, pregnancy triple chin. [ Reply | More ]
