[ - ] Good friend selling her coop. 1st buyer was denied most likely due to low HHI even though good assets. She is now about to sign a contract with higher HHI buyer with inadequate assets. If this buyer is denied her plan is to seek legal advice. She us getting multiple offers but non look flag free. WWYD? Would she get more options at a lower price or just more of the same? 5 Replies [ Reply | Watch | More ]

There are so many things wrong with this situation. First, don't her buyers have realtors who know what the coop looks for in terms of assets??? Second, what "legal advice"? How to sue the coop? Good luck with that. [ Reply | More ]

Get Baby Foot on Amazon [ Reply | More ]
General Topics 09.26.16, 03:12 PM Flag

Ok, so here's what I'd do. Buy Baby Foot foot peel. It's crazy. Do that the first night and then you are going to have to wear socks and shoes for about a week and a half 'cause your whole out layer of skin sloughs off. So no flip flops. That should get you back to a soft awesome foot. But then, you are going to need to be wearing closed toe shoes every day. Flip flops every day just make your feet so dry. Do the lotion and socks at night. Or make sure to do it sitting in front of the tv each night. Also, buy (off amazon) a Salux Nylon Japanese Beauty Skin Bath Wash Cloth/towel. It only comes in a 3 pack, so you'll have to give the other two away. Keep it in the shower and suds up your feet with it each time you're in there. It's good for maintenance. Good luck! I'm not sure what's going on with that. I have a SN kid and I have yet to be breaking into tears in a group of moms every time I see another child doing something she can't. Either she hasn't yet adjusted (though I think it's been a few years already) or she's pushing the drama as her storyline. Either way, it's not productive at all, and keeps you from celebrating what your child can do because you're wasting all your time obsessing over the stuff they can't do. [ Reply | More ]

Worry in what way? Take him for therapy? I don't think he's ready for that. At this point, the best you can do is ride it out. He may be verbal, but he doesn't yet have the ability to regulate his emotions, and that just comes with time. [ Reply | More ]

Yep, I remember some tough times between 2.5 and 3. Have you read those books 'your 2 year old', 'your 3 year old'? They're super quick reads and each one addresses an age. I really liked them. Maybe cruise through the 2 and 3 year old versions. Also, have you ever read 123 magic? That book helped me out a lot with discipline issues at 2-4. Oh, also, I don't know what the tantrums are exactly about. But I heavily used my microwave timer to help with transitions. I'd give my toddler 2 crappy choices that I was fine with either one (do you want to go to the grocery store with me in 2 minutes or 4 minutes?, do you want to clean up your toys before your snack or right after your snack? etc..) Then I'd let them have a 'choice' and it would make them much more amenable to whatever was coming up next. My DS never wanted to do things when I asked him to, but he would obey that microwave timer like it was a god. A robot god that also makes popcorn from time to time. Good luck! [ Reply | More ]

Honestly, I don't know what I'd do without the timer. He's 5.5 now and I still use it every once in a while. There's just something so much more appealing to him about obeying an inanimate object than me. Ha! Guess I'm not winning any parenting awards soon. But yeah, try it. And as far as 123 magic goes. I did start with it around 2.5 and it did work. Even if he didn't fully get the concept at the start, it was still kind of just a good warning system. And he eventually picked up on it. Give it a shot. [ Reply | More ]

op: thanks- I will. Was the first week really tough? You have to immediately pick them up and take them to their rooms? I guess this is different for disobeying rather than tantrums. I have been trying to "ignore" the tantrums. [ Reply | More ]

It's a bit hard for me to remember now since we haven't used 123 in a long time. I think it did take a little while to get into the swing of it (first few days). But also, my biggest problem was me making the full transition. I would slide back into my old way of doing things. As soon as I was committed, then he snapped into it fairly quickly. At the beginning there were days that I'd get to 3 many times. But then after a while, the behavior started stopping after 1. Honestly, I remember reading a lot of discipline books back then since 2/3 is a tough age. And I almost felt that any method would work as long as you 100% committed to it and your DC knew that this was the new regime. As far as tantrums go. I do remember that if it was just general crying and being a whiny PIA, many times I would let him 'cry it out'...just not in a common area. If you want to go cry about something, great. But not here and not where it hurts everyone's ears. Go into your room and chill in there till you're done. And then he'd get bored in there after a while and cool down and head back out. Oh, and I also had to resist the urge to mention whatever the issue was when he came back out. I just clean slated it, changed the subject and moved on. But my natural inclination can be to kind of say 'ok, you're back. so you see, not so much of a big deal, right?' Totally bad idea. Sends him right back to the perceived injustice. So I had to keep my trap shut and just move on. No rehashing. :) [ Reply | More ]

No problem. Good luck. Tough age. Oh and one last thought since I'm babbling. I really do believe in giving them choices on a lot of things like I mentioned above. My parents seriously rolled their eyes on that. They were 70s parents and every time they hear me give my son 2 choices on something, they think I'm spoiling him. But if they're 2 lame choices that I'm fine with either, I think it really helps to give him a tiny sense of power over his life and doesn't impact me at all. I also think it's perfect for distracting him. If I say 'hey, do you want to help me with the laundry now?', he's going to say no every time. But if I say 'honey, would you prefer to help me start the laundry up now or would you rather help me load the dishwasher'...he ends up focusing on picking between his 2 choices rather than realizing he should just be saying no to both and lobbying for more TV. Ha. I know he's still young and he'll outsmart me soon. But hey, until then, it's working. Oh my other theory (I promise, last one) is that I kind of think that humans are somehow programmed to want to say yes to the second thing you offer them. I feel like there's something comforting about mimicking back the last thing you heard. So when I want to steer him toward a choice, I'll put the thing I want him to pick last. 'Honey, do you want tacos or spaghetti for dinner?' cause I'd prefer to make spaghetti. I swear 9 times out of 10, if he doesn't have a huge preference, he'll always say the second thing offered. Yeah, I could be crazy though. Sorry for all the babbling. [ Reply | More ]
