[ - ] If a private organization was in process of getting well over $100 million in taxpayer money from NYC residents, but told the city it wasn't allowed to look at their "operating practices" but would let them look at their finances to make sure they were running in the black, would you wonder what they were hiding? Why isn't anyone allowed to look at whether your organization is doing what it is supposed to be doing? If a group home for children is getting millions of dollars and told the city agency they could look at their books, but not look closely at how they ran their group homes, wouldn't you be suspicious? 5 Replies [ Reply | Watch | More ]

[ - ] I am the woman with the alcoholic sister who has two children..on is 18 and lives with her dad now. The other, who is 14, is still across the country with his mom. I realize that the 18 year old hates her mother and she blames her for everything wrong in her life. the 18 year old uses a wheelchair. Both children love their dad and, honestly, if I didn't call them or have them up for a couple of weeks in the summer. I would never hear from them. Their father works but has children by three different mothers. He has a terrible temper and can be very immature. I guess I'm asking why I try to have a relationship with my sister and her children. My sister has really only been in my life when she needs something. I never hear from her two kids unless I contact them. I know the father has been disparaging my sister their whole lives... I believe he probably undercuts me as well. Should I just let them all go? I'm trying to think how the Buddha would handle this. 5 Replies [ Reply | Watch | More ]

Maybe. I live in Chicago but spend a lot of time in NY for work, and honestly, I never feel unsafe in either. I hear far more about crime in Chicago, but always in the same neighborhoods. The statistics are something like 95% of all gun shot victims have a friend or family member who has already been a gun shot victim, so it does seem to be at least somewhat contained. Although now I probably just jinxed myself... [ Reply | More ]

I would encourage her to stick it out. She might need some more 1 on 1 tutoring especially in the difficult classes. If you can hire an anatomy tutor to go over the harder parts of the course or whatever she doesn't understand in the textbook and missed on the exam, do it. If she still can't do well after top notch tutoring maybe then it's time to drop but not everyone learns the same way. If she learns better with 1 on 1 instruction and can perform on the tests, then she is just like everyone else who got the same knowledge in the classroom. [ Reply | More ]

This. Far better to show off your shape than hide it, no matter what size you are. Shapeless clothes add weight. You may be tempted to not spend a lot of money because you don't want to invest in clothes at this size, but don't. Cut makes all the difference.
