all i can say to you is, for most women, it happens quickly. i know that is easier said than done, but most likely, if you get married, you will get pregnant very quickly. make sure you get yourself checked out, make sure everything is in order so when you are ready to rock and roll, you are ready. GL, it will all work out. Don't worry, stress won't help. there is a plan for you, have faith and trust. you are young and have plenty of time! xo and by the way, i met my husband at 28, married at 30, had my first at 32, second at 34 and 3rd at 37. just don't wish away this time because you're worried about kids. What the other posters said is SO true. Focus on your relationship with the guy because odds are you will become pregnant when you want and you don't want to look back and wish you had really enjoyed the time alone with your DH instead of just rushing to this point. But i totally understand where you're coming from. Women feel a lot of pressure, and the age thing. But you're young, you have plenty of time. don't let anyone tell you differently or make you feel like you have to be at a certain point in your life because you "x" years old. Sounds like you met a nice guy - good luck with that. I hope it work outs for you :) [ Reply | More ]

OR - yes, and it's easier for me to say, i know you want that part of your life to get started NOW. i get it. i remember being exactly where you were, so i get it. Kind of feeling like you want to know the plan... but you love this guy and he loves you so i am sure he is going to propose. sounds like you've had the family discussion and he knows you want to get married and have kids. he has friends with kids, brothers with families, so he doesn't run with some pack of bachelors, so more than likely, he is going to propose.. so just breathe and trust and it will happen. :) xo [ Reply | More ]

Telling Israel not to defend itself after years of rocket-throwing by Hamas, 2500 rockets fired and tunnels constructed with all the money and supplies that came in to help the people, is antisemitism. It's beyond tragic that Hamas killed 160 children in building the tunnels and puts missiles in schools so children will be killed, but it's not reasonable to say Israel should allow its own people to die to save the Arabic children Hamas is effectively slaughtering, or that Israeli should be villified for killling ANYONE during a WAR. It's antisemitism to not give a rat's ass when 170000 are killed in Syria (including how many children???) but to scream for blood if Israel, despite the warnings to leave unheard of for ANY country, kills a single civilian. [ - ] At 40 I went back on the birth control pill to manage horrible PMS and periods (they were normal before I gave birth, then, after 18 months of cessation from breastfeeding, returned with a vengeance). Now, I'm wondering if the side effects are worse: I've gained 10 pounds in 3 months and feel bloated and constipated all the time. If I go off the pill, will I at least lose the weight? Please help. I really appreciate it and don't take your responding for granted. :) 6 Replies [ Reply | Watch | More ]

I think it all depends on how your body responds. You've just been on it three months. It took me that long to adjust to the pill and everything was whacky, including some weight gain. After three or four months, the problems went away and I was able to resume to my normal weight (even lost weight during the time because I was doing a lot of running). Could you give it a little more time? [ Reply | More ]

Are you sure it's the pill. The low dose estrogen that they are today is not supposed to cause nearly the same side effects as what we were on in our 20s [ Reply | More ]

It depends. I took one pill which regulated my weight. When I switched to a lower dose one I actually gained weight so I switched back and instantly lost all that extra weight. When I got off the pill completely I gained 20 pounds with no change in diet/lifestyle. Hormones are a bitch and it depends on how sensitive you are to them [ Reply | More ]

I think the experience at any hospital has most to do with the nursing staff you get (luck of the draw) and your doctor. I had some terrible nurses there and some good ones. Bc I stayed for a while due to complications it was overall not a good experience for me but I know many who have had good experiences there and bad experiences elsewhere. [ Reply | More ]

[ - ] Hosting a BBQ and a good friend's son has severe food allergies (dairy, egg, soy, nuts). I know she is usually stressed when she goes to things like this, so I'd like to make it as allergy friendly as possible. I am serving chips with guac/salsa, fruit salad, and hot dogs, hamburgers, salmon burgers, veggie burgers, etc. Corn on the cob, and veggie kabobs. Anyone else have ideas for what else I can serve that would be safe for her son? Please no flames. He's a sweet kid, and has already had to go to the hospital multiple times. TIA! 7 Replies [ Reply | Watch | More ]
