This is awful. You are going through a phase. You WILL snap out of it. You are the most powerful actor here in terms of taking steps toward improving your life. Can you adopt a cat or a dog ASAP? Can you start taking lessons to learn a language or a musical instrument? Please don't isolate yourself - you need to be around other living creatures, not just in the workplace. I'm about half your age and sink into a depression when I am alone for too long! Age has nothing to do with it; there are many others who occasionally find themselves in the same boat. Churchill wrote of "the black dog," i.e. his depression that would occasionally creep into his life. Please take steps to change your situation and thereby change your mood. I promise it will get better if you do!

Book a ticket to Siem Riep and wander around Angkor Wat - you will realize the world is pretty awesome and there are many things to see and experience. Maybe travelling can become your passion. Hugs.

I am not here bc if I go people would miss me. I dont care. I am here because there is so much to do and see. Why don't you travel, see the world, date like crazy, volunteer, go to movies, work part time at something you think would be cool (for me would be toy store or high end retail)

That's a good idea - yes, working in retail in some cheerful environment would be just what OP might need. Sounds like she's too isolated! That would bring anyone down.

Get outside as much as you can, look at the sun. I've been there. Very unlikely for me but I started lifting weights w a friend, listening to books on audible. Honestly, you must change your focus of attention

If it has what NYC lacks, very specifically, I'd totally do that. Make a list of things you don't like about NYC. Me, I don't like a) how expensive the real estate is and b) how incredibly filthy it is. I would totally move to a clean, less expensive area if it still had some of the good things (culture and mild climate) that NYC has.

I'm realizing that I really like living in the city - have a great apartment in good school zone (maintaining it and everything else we need and/or should save is part of the issue). Almost anywhere else, it would be burbs that are near city or face the same issues in NYC in terms of cost of living to get good public in city. Frankly, some cities the public option isn't actually as viable as NYC.

Yoga pants are the new jeans, it seems. But I would never wear yoga pants, personally. I started doing yoga before yoga pants, so I still think that they're a colossal joke.

OP: I'd be more pissed off if it were beer or cigarettes, but this is kind of funny. I don't care that he has cologne. I'd buy him cologne (and deodorant and shampoo and body spray) ... it's the title that is like WTF?? But I don't think cologne for a teenage boy who dates is "stupid shit" in and of itself. If he had purchased Old Spice without my permission it wouldn't bother me at all. But WHAT THE HELL. Now I have to go and read the reviews for this stuff. I'm sure they are epic ...

I would be concerned that your son thinks he'll get laid by using cologne that claims it "works by altering the woman's brain receptors. Shutting down the receptor that mediates the brains response to shopping & stimulating the brain receptors that control woman's deepest sexual desires!!. " Yes, I did google it.

Lol: here is a review: Growing up, my dad always told me that there are no sure things in life. For the most part, he was right, but my dad also didn't have Sure F*** cologne when he was my age.
It's no secret that a woman's olfactory perception is heightened by certain smells. Have you ever seen a chick when she gets a whiff of chocolate? It's like a pack of hyenas circling a wounded zebra. Well, that's how women act around a man wearing Sure F*** cologne.
And by "a man" I mean me.
For years, I went out to the clubs armed with nothing but hair gel and self-tanner lotion, but it wasn't enough. After numerous failed attempts with other colognes, I finally settled on Sure F*** after a recommendation from a coworker.
The first time I wore Sure F*** out in the wild, I applied a liberal coating -- upstairs and downstairs... if you know what I mean. I couldn't keep track of all the compliments I was getting from the ladies on the dance floor. Like: "Are you wearing cologne?" and "Are you the guy wearing all that cologne?"
Woah! Settle down, ladies, there's plenty of chatchi to go around!
It was INSANE! The chicks were surrounding me -- pointing and whispering to their friends. Surely discussing which one wanted to bang me the most. The cool, fresh and manly aroma is not at all overpowering. The best part is when you give a girl your shirt to wear, it's guaranteed to smell like Sure F*** even weeks later -- no matter how many times you wash the shirt -- so that girl will never forgot your name the next time she's in the mood to get down. It's the perfect bouquet to ensure that the ladies are handing their numbers (and their panties) over to you, and not some clown wearing Drakkar Noir.
Believe me when I say that this stuff is like testosterone in a bottle. I'm hardly the world's most f***able man, but with a bottle of Sure F*** in my arsenal, I'm sure to get, well... f***ed any day now.
P.S. While I'm not what you'd call a "condom-wearer," I do appreciate the FREE Sure F*** condom that came with my order. A classy uch

You don't really need a financial advisor for a 529, go for the lowest fees, lowest sales charges. If you have significant assets in any mutual fund families already that can be a good way to avoid fees since many discount their sales loads for their existing clients.

fibromyalgia is not a real disease and many people who "have" it are drug seekers to begin with. In other worlds fibromyalgia works for them, allowing them to get drugs, not the other way around.

What is "not true"? Many people who claim to have fibromyalgia are addicted to painkillers. Not everybody. Some people have different reasons to claim they have chronic pain of unexplained etymology, like depression, wanting attention, etc. FIbromyalgia is not a real disease. I am an md.

You need to be open to divorced AND older. Get over the looks. I was not raised with my dad. My mom married a very good, kind, hard working businessman who was 2 inches shorter, 10 years older and to this day can't eat without getting food on his ties/shirts. But he treated her like a queen. She taught me a long time ago, looks don't last.

It's normal - same thing happened to me. I think it's a combination of muscle and body/metabolism changes that come with age. How your clothes fit is really the ultimate determination of size, in my experience. When I gain fat (vs muscle), that's where I notice.

Honestly, I think that the weight gain is just your muscles storing glycogen. For every 1g of glycogen stored, your body also stores 3 g of water. So essentially the weight gain you're noticing is water. I run too and I try not to put too much stock in my actual weight on the scale. If you look good in your clothes, then don't worry about it.
