I told her that in 6 wks school will be over and we will not need her any longer until September if she was interested. She worked only 8 hrs a wk so it wasn't like I cut her livelihood. Since this conversation she canceled on me 2x very last minute (like an hour before kids pickup) I was originally planning to give her $100 at the end and was planning to keep her as long as we agreed. I have been in this situation. My stepfather was decently wealthy and left everything to my mother, who was his affair partner. He left his wife and kid for my mom, she left my dad and us (3 sibs) for him. Neither one of them wanted custody. They just lived the high life in Manhattan together. Stepdad's first wife had use of their beach house until she died of cancer. He then sold it. My stepsister (adopted from Vietnam) had a complicated relationship with him. He basically showed no interest in her beyond continuing to pay private school and college tuition. My mom hated her and called her names and said she was no family to us. When stepdad died and it turned out that there was a life insurance policy with her (stepsister) as sole beneficiary, my mom flipped the fuck out. How dare he provide for a daughter that only his ex-wife wanted. [ Reply | More ]

My father set his estate up so that we don't inherit anything until stepmonster dies. Oak imparts flavors and aromas to a wine. Toast, vanilla, cedar, spice and smoky notes are common oak influences (although there are many other nuances too). Oak barrels are also credited with giving wine a richer texture, adding to the belief that oak adds complexity. An unoaked wine is more likely to be lighter-bodied than its oaked counterpart, with more fresh fruit flavors and less of any cedary, toasty, vanilla character. [ Reply | More ]
