You need to examine your expectations of people. You expect people to entertain you when really that is not their purpose in life. Perhaps you'd like to add something and bring something interesting yourself to the conversation? If not, then this is what you get. [ Reply | More ]

[ - ] Just received an email from 5 yr old ds teacher. She has been experiencing some difficulties with him. Not that this isn't your job (it is) but as a parent, whenever I get a complaint from a teacher, the first thing I ask is: And how are you addressing these issues in the classroom? It reminds everyone that it's also her job, as well as yours, to come up with a solution to this problem. Have a meeting, talk about what you should both be doing, at home and at school, to improve ds' behavior. [ Reply | More ]

Just tell him the rules in school and in another conversation chat him up and see if it's a clay with another child and teacher sees retaliation not first strike. Also e plain, sometimes other children think it's funny to get somebody else in trouble. So when you have a big reaction to what they say or do you are giving them what they want. So don't react. Do your very very best not to do the things you teacher doesn't like. Address his sense if "fairness" by saying not to worry about what the other children do and if they get caught or not. That at this point he needs to be completely focused on him not getting called out and you will help him. Don't allow your kid to be the fun target for the class. Once that gets established he is fucked. Nip this shit NOW [ Reply | More ]

Read books. Tons of them. Try to figure out whether is a behavioral issue vs regulatory issue. Most kids just have behavioral issue, and in that case, a behavioral chart should work but you need to be very consistent. I have DC who has the latter, and it's not like he doesn't understand the rules. He really can't help it in certain occasion and his immediate reaction is push or throw. We had tons of therapies throughout the years, and the school worked with us. It's not easy. [ Reply | More ]

NP: I said the same thing. The man I married 'presented' as someone who was on board with this as I made it perfectly clear what I wanted in life. Then we got married, had kids and he imploded. I am now a struggling single mom, mid forties, with zero savings trying to get by. The biggest mistake I ever made was thinking that someone else would provide the lifestyle I wanted instead of making sure I could provide it for myself. Now I'm paying for it. [ Reply | More ]
