OP: We don't need sparkling. I do have a friend with a mother who has very advanced alzheimers and she just gives her mom welch's red or white grape juice and calls it wine. But my mom isn't so far advanced that she wouldn't call total BS on that. :) My dad found some non-alcoholic Chardonnay and he's putting a smidge of Muscadet in it. But it's all turning out too sweet. So we're trying to see if we can find a nonA Sauvignon Blanc. I found a well rated one, but it's British and doesn't appear to sell over here. [ Reply | More ]

I just helped my son edit a college paper on the subject this morning. Explained a lot to me. Here was a quote from his paper that resonated with me: "Taking this notion a little further, the loss of NN could mean that ISPs would be able to limit access to content it disagrees with. Seeing as how the Internet has become the prime source of news and other information for most of Americans, ISPs’ ability to control access to political or otherwise contentious content would be a gigantic blow to the notion of free speech." This. My exH was charming, successful, funny, nice until a bit after we got married, when his a-hole tendencies started to come out. It got worse after db1 was born, and much, much worse when I was pg with db2. As if he figured I was "trapped" now and he could do whatever he wanted - verbally abusive, name calling, yelling in my face until I'd be hiding in a locked bathroom, controlling about where I went and what I did (and I worked FT during all of this). Yeah but if he showed himself to be this way 2 months into the marriage and you didn't address it and then you had kids with him and then you let him take Financial control of the situation or became financially dependent on him and now it's 15 years later and you're still bitching about him being a jerk, there is some culpability on your part. If he started acting like an ass whole two months into the marriage and you didn't insist that he stop or go to counseling change his ways Etc and you continue to dig your hole in the relationship by having kids so, some of this is on you. Why would you not just get an annulment and leave after a bad 6 months I mean that's a reasonable amount of time for you to deal with it and have him show you his true colors and then you just walk away from the marriage. But I know you had a gigantic wedding and a lot of family pressure you have to keep up appearances so you couldn't possibly do the right thing [ Reply | More ]

It's like boiling a frog. You don't believe it is happening when it starts, because it's different from what came before. Then you think it is not worth ending a marriage over, and then you think but I want children, I don't want to be divorced, and bit by bit it takes over. [ Reply | More ]

See my comment above. If you put up with it indefinitely why would you expect it to ever change? Of you've basically accepted it after he's been acting this way for 2 months 6 months a year or whatever you don't really get the right to complain about it. If he begins to get emotionally abusive, name-calling, tries to eliminate you from making financial decisions are having access to money, or is just a jerk, and you let it go over and over and over again and then procreate with him you really can't complain about it 5 10 15 years later [ Reply | More ]
