On Wednesday night if you're behind, would you rather power through, work until late, and wake up Thursday with very little left to do? Or is it better to relax Wednesday evening, wake up on Thursday and be playing catch-up all day. Dinner is at 4:30. 17 Replies [ Reply | Watch | More ]

Cannot advise re therapist, but if considering divorce: 1. Gather last two years of all financial records, tax returns, brokerage and bank accounts. Leave copies outside of house, at work or with friend. Later you can summarized. 2. Make certain you and not DH handle all medical and school appts. You need to gain more than 50% custody to get child support and max out settlement. [ Reply | More ]

Therapist is a very good idea. You need to approach this from a practical standpoint. If your DH has depression and anxiety are you really going to be happier if he's taking your children away from you where you can't see what's happening or hear what's being said? It may be better to completely change your mindset and just keep him under the same roof. You can play the long game in preparing financially to leave him when the kids are older. The right therapist can help you figure it out and also point you to a really good lawyer. [ Reply | More ]

Don’t make OP feel bad for wanting to get a divorce. This board always cautions women who want out and whilemcaution is reasonable and responsible being miserable is worse. I 100% agree with everyone who suggest preparing, getting financial records etc. Document what you need to but therapy won’t save a truly miserable situation and you should have to wait until you are old to live your life (like my mother did) Gl! I'm washing the dishes at the sink and she finds three excuses to have to go under the sink in the 6 minutes it takes me to clean the pots we used for dinner. We're getting ready to go out and she says "oh, I forgot something that I wanted to wear in the car. Can you go get it?" She sees a light bulb go out and she comes to me and says "hey, that light bulb just went out." It's a whole pattern of behavior that some women use just to see how much they can get away with with their husbands. 14 Replies [ Reply | Watch | More ]

You are right. The one thing that surprised me a bit was that older DC is more openly hurt/sad that they can't see their sibling over Thanksgiving than I thought. Should the companies that own the internet distribution networks like AT&T and Comcast be allowes to discriminate what gets priority to be carried or to charge for priority? Most of the rest of the Internet (users, web sites) say no and Obama's administration put this concept in. The companies say look we paid for this Internet infrastructure and everyone else is free riding off it- if we want to charge Netflix or favor NBC content (if we are Comcast), we should be able to. Whereas previously internet providers had to deliver internet content at the same speed/rate without “looking inaide” to see what the content was and where it came from, (aka being neutral) they now can speed up stuff companies pay them to do like ads, and slow down the delivery of things from sites or non profits or companies hat choose not to “pay up” for better delivery. Right now your ISP just provides you with a pipeline through which you can access anything you want. These ISPs want instead to be able to charge for specific kinds of content. Like if you want to watch Netflix, that's an extra $10 a month. Your kid wants to play Xbox online? Extra $12 a month. You watch Youtube? You'll get 100 videos a month and after that it's $.10 per video. A company like Comcast that owns ISPs and content will of course make their content free and Hulu or Amazon Prime an extra $20 a month. [ Reply | More ]
General Topics 11.23.17, 01:27 AM Flag

They're not gonna do that- that is a scare tactic- they will charge the content providers to have the same speed. They know there is more money there than charging the end consumers. They see their returns for putting all that capex in the ground as tiny compared to the returns of Google, Amazon, eBay, etc. [ Reply | More ]

Neurology mom here: the most common cause of memory loss = sleep deprivation. People who have Alzheimer's disease do not have insight (they are unaware of their memory deficits). You're probably stressed and exhausted (leading to the brain not consolidating memories as well as it could); hormones also play a part. Get some rest, exercise, do yoga/meditation, and eat well.
