[ - ] speaking of television - my MIL keeps asking me if db is "watching tv yet." he's 6 months old and she's been talking to me about this since he was a month old. she thinks there is educational value in baby einstien videos. 1 Reply [ Reply | Watch | More ]

she could do some research and read how there isn't that much value in baby einstein, at least not at that age. my ds didn't watch tv until he was 2 and he can entertain himself for hours reading, playing. when my IL asked about the tv I just told them I wasn't ready to relinquish control of the remote just yet. [ - ] 12 mo dd is clearly tired but screaming her head off when i put her down for a nap. dropping the am nap? why would she be yawning if she's not tired and didn't need the nap? i'm letting her cio right now, but she's really hysterical. not usually like this at nap time. also getting new teeth -- could be from teething, right? 3 Replies [ Reply | Watch | More ]

def could be. that's pretty old for two naps though too? at that age, i would try for 20 mins and then get her up if not. start afternoon nap earlier. [ Reply | More ]

Sounds like she's giving up the AM nap. I'd start moving the AM nap back by 15mins or 30mins. My dd napped from 11am-1pm for about five months. [ Reply | More ]

[ - ] Kind of bummed. BF came with me this weekend to visit my family for the long holiday weekend. It was a big step in our relationship and was the first time he was around DC for an overnight. (dc didn't know we were even sleeping in the same room) anyway, i feel as though i include him in all aspects of my life (my family, my friends, etc) and he doesn't include me in his. He is not a very social person, a total introvert, and isnt really a joiner in that sense. Anyway, i thought this was a big step. In the car ride home, he decides next weekend he is going to go away to a house he owns that he hasn't been to since his marriage ended. he didn't even ask if i would be interested in going up with him. i guess its a personal issue that he needs space to himself for, but what a bummer after i just had him with my entire family. 4 Replies [ Reply | Watch | More ]

I think this is typical male behavior. you took the relationship to a new, more committed level; he feels he needs to distance himself [ Reply | More ]

i agree - and get the folding potty seat to keep in your bag - and when you are out, make sure that YOU make potty stops regularly - don't rely on her telling you (it could be too late or not readily accessible) - also, i have a rule that everyone has to try before we walk out the door and when we walk in the door at home - it definitely helps [ Reply | More ]

I love it for girls because it's very versatile b/c of the layered aspect ofit. I think it wears well, but we hang it dry which helps. 18 mo dd has been wearing one outfit since November. Kind of a more fashion-forward, higher quality Zutano. [ Reply | More ]
