I would think that the business hotels along the highways (LIE etc.) would have vacancies. If you make it more about the trip, beach, shopping, vineyards etc. you could have a great weekend. [ Reply | More ]

what was dc's sb score? have you talked to donna at anderson? she's apparently working on a plan to ensure divergent 99s get a spot. the problem is that even though you're a high 99, it's rumored to be a lottery within percentiles, so without help from donna, you're not a shoo-in. you're in d2 , which is good, especially if you live downtown and your zoned school is 234 or 41. though i hear 41 has made 3 it's dumping ground, so if that's your zone, who knows! oh, and nest, though i hear the principal is a nut and that k kids have four hours of homework a night. if all else fails, there's tag, and i assume you ranked the chinatown schools? it's always good to rank a school even if you don't wind up taking it. some people complain those schools aren't aren't diverse, but they are obviously racists. gl!!!! Both Marci and Donna at Anderson made it clear that there is NO WAY to create a strategy or rig the system. That there was an element of luck in when the application is picked within our child's percentile score and to be sure we ranked our choices in the order we wanted them and not relative to anyone else's application. There is no further testing for anything anymore. [ Reply | More ]
