[ - ] Can anyone recommend an interior designer in NYC to help us combine 2 apartments? We have an architect but he does not have any creative ideas. TIA. 11 Replies [ Reply | Watch | More ]

Get a new architect!! You are moving walls and breaking down walls. An interior designer may have "ideas" but they may not be safe!! [ Reply | More ]

op: we got 2 estimates. This one is literally 1/3 the price of the other. We thought at the time to go with the cheaper one because it should be a relatively simple combination. but now we wish he could do some interesting things for us. [ Reply | More ]

I loved using John Willey. He has his own small firm in NYC and I found him to be less expensive than other designers since he's pretty new. I recommend him highly. www.willeydesign.com [ Reply | More ]

We are thinking about adopting and can't imagine the wait either. I barely made it through 9 months with the baby there for me to see in my lap all day. Try to think of the lovely future, even 10 years from now, when your child is just family. Good luck! [ Reply | More ]

I have a summer birthday--and friends being away never bothered me, cause i knew it wasn't personal. In fact, I liked it because I often got more birthday celebrations--like at camp the week of my birthday, then home with parents, the next week visiting granparents, etc. DD will be ok, i promise. Toyota Highlander Hybrid. Not SUV, b/c it's built on car chassis. Not "cool" per se, but a great car that will last you for 150k miles or more. Gas mileage great for that type of car. Volvo wagon is also a good choice, but the gas mileage isn't great. [ Reply | More ]

there is almost no risk of getting a virus on a mac because viruses are written for pcs. the only caveat is that if you run "parallels" (a program that allows you to run windows programs on a mac) you could get viruses. my dh converted me back to macs 4 yrs ago and now I can't stand my work computer! I swear since DH and I did it (on the cycle day I conceived DS), I've felt funky-- period-like cramping, bloat, teeny tiny bit of queasiness this AM, reflux after lunch today (which NEVER happens to me)...I'm not due for period until 06/13. TCOYF book talks about how some women do ovulate really, really early. The author provided an example of an orthodox Jewish woman who could not get pg b/c her faith mandated that she spend one week after her period in a separate bed from her dh. She ovulated so early that it was w/in the first week after menstruation. [ Reply | More ]
