my sil's dr. cut a nerve during her c section. She has been on nonstop pain medication for almost 9 years now - ever since - and is in a wheelchair and can't work. She's so high all the time that she can barely take care of her dd. Super sad. Not to scare you, but you asked . . . [ Reply | More ]

this was me. i am on a tight budget but here's what i did. eyebrow wax. started wearing earrings every day. started polishing my own nails. (just a light, almost sheer color.) you would not believe how these three things made me feel put together. i went out and bought three comfortable skirts and two new sweaters and i feel great. total cost was under 100. i was going to splurge on shoes but didn't end up needing to. Induction can be pretty awful (I was in semi-labor for 36 hours and ended up with c-section)--recovery would be bad if I had #1 at home already. Hold out if you can. [ Reply | More ]

I was induced, it was a breeze. Baby was born 8 hour after start of pitocin (i was only 2 cm dilated), pushed for 20 minutes. Don't let the induction stories freak you out. But hold off if you can. Take a bath, rest. And GL! [ Reply | More ]

my dc got mostly 4s both progress reports for K. lost some points for speaking out of turn. Others told me that their kids got 3s the first go around and then 4s later. I think the school likes to show progress as they are being graded on this. [ Reply | More ]

[ - ] It's true that ERB uses code words and they change annually. People who try to outsmart the system deserve to be "outed" this way. Besides, it's an intelligence test. Why have your kid try to go to a school where he or she is going to be miserable? 1 Reply [ Reply | Watch | More ]

it is highly unlikely that a child will end up miserable because they're too dumb for a school. school visit and school report have to match. it's an intelligence test that was never designed for the purpose it's being used for. so whether prepped or un-prepped, it just doesn't mean that much to me if a child does really well or not. To have any shot in hell there, you need support from a current family- can your friends write a letter and call Nancy or Deirdre on your behalf? Otherwise, if you drop their names and they don't support you to the school, the school will wonder why they haven't been approached about you. [ Reply | More ]
