There is a product my wife has used which is safe in pregnancy called ELON Dual Defense Antifungal and it really cleared both of her big toes. The only thing is that you have to use it after the infection is gone for the length of time it took to clear to prevent the fungus from coming back again. She is thrilled (and so am I). [ - ] Anyone else feeling less than festive this holiday season? We have had two death's in our family this last year, our income is way down, and I know I should feel grateful that we have jobs, a healthy family, etc. Instead, I can hardly wait for January 5th (post Xmas/New Year's madness to subside). And, if you do feel this way, do you just ride it out or is there a way to turn this around? 1 Reply [ Reply | Watch | More ]

Totally with you on this one. Two years ago, lost two of my closest friends within 8 weeks of each other (they were brothers, both had cancer). Last year, first Xmas without the boys, and had just ended a 7 yr relationship. This year, am 6 mos. pregnant (new relationship, things happened FAST), my brother was arrested in August for molesting his daugher & stepdaughter, so won't get to see my nieces, and my boyfriend's uncle was murdered last week. Honestly? I just want this season to be over. Hopefully next year I can make it fun for the new baby. [ Reply | More ]

[ - ] Are you signed your children up for less sports/enrichment classes than in the past b/c of the economy? In the past couple of weeks, we have received calls from each of the classes my children take to see if we are re-registering. some we are -- we just hadn't gotten around to doing it yet, but in past years when we dropped a class or registered late, I don't ever remember getting these calls. I remember mass emails, but not individual calls. I'm thinking that they are getting less kids and getting worried. 11 Replies [ Reply | Watch | More ]

I think the enrichment class world will certainly be affected, but not as much as one would think. Most mothers will make their own coffee, blowout their own hair, buy themselves less clothes etc. before they will take their kids out of soccer/ballet etc. Some of the reason is genuinely wanting things to stay the same for the kids, but some of it is that "the Joneses" will wonder why Jonny suddenly isn't taking soccer anymore and they will start to talk. I've read that this is the case. Since October, we've been doing fewer drop-in classes and going to fewer concerts, etc. on the weekend. I've figured out some cheaper things to do. We will probably splurge on a gym class for the winter weekends so our toddler can run around. Then we go to free swimming at our gym. [ Reply | More ]

[ - ] I remember at Hunter 2nd round, how nervous and desperate the parents looked. It was pathetic how some were visibly trembling, breathing hard, standing on tables to peek at their kids before they were taken upstairs, and how some looked visibly happy when a child (not their own) came down crying (which meant that child was done)... 30 Replies [ Reply | Watch | More ]
