[ - ] So ds got a scaled score of 770 out of 770 on 3rd grade math portion of those standardized tests. Is that common? Is it just that the tests dont expect that much? or does he have this hidden whatever? Curious. 2 Replies [ Reply | Watch | More ]

[ - ] Am at the end of my rope here. Formerly great sleep (3.5 y.o) is now refusing to sleep alone in her room. CIO (which I believe in) is not working anymore. She turned her room upside down tonight and seems genuinely scared to be alone. What to do? Any BTDTs? 4 Replies [ Reply | Watch | More ]

I also had a great sleeper until about that age. Slept through the night. Great napper, etc. I could leave the room when he was still awake, then he would fall asleep on his own. It's tough because I'd always had it so easy. We tried everything. Ds is 6 now and it still isn't great. Takes him forever to fall asleep, and I have finally acknowleged he just doesn't need as much sleep as other dc (about 9 hours a night). Could that be your dc's problem? [ Reply | More ]

This sounds different...but we taught our daughter that God is in her heart. When she is scared, I come in, I ask for a gaurdian angel, or have her ask for one. She likes to ask God for one that is brave, strong, and the best. We "throw" all the fear out of her heart, so God can have more room to work, and then I pray to God that he will protect her. Kids get that God is SO big. Ya know Veggie tales song, God is bigger than the boogie man. It works everytime, and then she literally rolls over and goes back to sleep. Nothing else ever worked! If i got prgnant i know he'd be happy i just dont want to discuss it and deal with a debate over a few months b/c who the hell knows how long its going to take anyway. Well if your DH has a sense of humor, and knows you are not using protection (and he is not either) why don't you just ask if he wants to play a little "roulette?" Seriously, he has to know in the back of his mind that there is always a chance you will get pg, and to that end you know that the stats are not on your side that the timing will be perfect for pg anyway. My friend's husband was really pissed, but they had clearly discussed not having anymore kids, and she had a hard time conceiving anyway. On her own she went on Clomid or something that would aid in fertility and ended up pregnant. She couldn't see why he was mad, they were having sex, but knew on her own the chances were slim to none of conception. She couldn't understand how he would be upset, I think that kind of sneaky stuff is somewhat of a betrayal. Anyway, she ended up miscarrying in the end, she was devestated of course. They had three girls already but really wanted a boy. Now they are divorced! [ Reply | More ]

I had a huge zit around the time that I was ovulating - about 10 days before my period but I thought the zit was related to my upcoming period (for some reason I ovulated incredibly late that month). I was monitoring my basal body temp and that's the only thing that told me very early on that I was pregnant. I did have some cramps, but they were similar to PMS cramps. [ Reply | More ]

If a child is severely constipated, loose stool can leak around impacted stool. See ped asap to evaluate and treat as the accidents may affect her confidence in being toilet trained but likely she can't hold it. [ Reply | More ]
