Not a fan of creamed corn so I am predisposed but... You have a lot of fat in your first starch -- mashed potatoes -- I'd drop the creamed corn. You need something with a little acid. I think 2 starches are overkill--serving corn and potatoes is like serving pasta and potatoes. I'd stick with the potatoes and nix the corn. I think braised sweet potatoes or roasted butternut squash would add a little color to the plate (cucumber salad too summery, imo). [ Reply | More ]

Quarter, remove seeds, peel. Cut in 1" chunks. Throw on baking sheet with sides. drizzle with olive oil (pretty good amount). Sprinkle with s & p. Bake at 350 for about a half hour or so. SO good! [ Reply | More ]

I factor in tips as the cost of living in a doorman bldg - ditto that its part of the cost of having a nanny or housekeeper. It sucks because your situation has changed but I think you have to give at least $40-50 for the main people and $20 for the ones that don't do much for you at a minimum. [ Reply | More ]
