[ - ] anyone with significant grey hair dye it themselves? If so, what's a good product? And, do you just dye roots each month or the whole head?? Finally, with permanent dye, can you change the shade (i.e. go from brown to red or auburn??) 1 Reply [ Reply | Watch | More ]

you shouldn't do the entire head each month (that's how the hair dries out and damages). Only do new growth. I found GRANIER to cover pretty good (for my mom) [ Reply | More ]

[ - ] My 14-month-old is a terrible sleeper. Naps have become a battle and nighttime sleeping is a challenge. He still wakes up at least once or twice at night. He goes to sleep in his crib, but inevitably ends up in our bed. Is it worth it to get a sleep consultant? Has anyone ever used one? Or should I just deal until it hopefully gets better? 10 Replies [ Reply | Watch | More ]

I had this problem but someone told me that when he wakes up to go into his room, keep the lights out, pick him up without making eye contact or talking at all. He's looking to engage and play. Stand or sit, holding him in the dark. He will try to get you to engage but resist. Do not rock him or play at all. don't let him down. After awhile, he'll get bored when he realizes that you aren't going to give him attention. [ Reply | More ]

^^^^ this worked for me. He tested me a few times but quickly realized that it wasn't so fun just "being" with no one talking, rocking or cooing to him. I put him back in the crib and had to do it a couple more times before he just gave up and went to sleep. I always say that I have a force field around my bed until 6AM. [ Reply | More ]

We've tried just going in there at night to soothe him and put him back down. Sometimes it works, other times we bring him to bed because we know he'll sleep there. I agree this is just a growing problem, but I feel nothing is working at this point. I don't want to hire a sleep consultant, but I think this is the only choice I have. [ Reply | More ]

Yes, it's very hard but if you can deal with a couple of sleepless nights, you will be rewarded with years of good sleep for all of you. The soothing part, may be why he wakes up. He knows he's going to get mom's attention. The key is to have him be able to soothe himself. A good sleep therapist may help you stay strong and get rid of the guilt. Your son will be much better off for years to come. [ Reply | More ]

I once saw on a nanny show how the mom would go in and sit on the floor without looking or talking to the baby. He was trying to get her attention by crying and she was staring at the floor. He was comforted by the fact that someone was in the room with him and after a little temper tantrum he went to sleep. The next night, she sat a little closer to the door and the third night, in the hallway. After 3 nights he was sleeping through. [ Reply | More ]

here, i'll be your sleep consultant. they key is to be consistent. if you're unhappy with cosleeping, try this cure for the next 2 weeks before giving up. first, stop bringing him in your bed. don't take him out of his crib when he cries at night or during his nap. go in, give him a pat or two, and leave. gradually increase the amount of time before you go in or go take a 45 minute shower. nap at 9/10AM and 1/2PM every day. no naps in the stroller or on the run. he stays in his crib for 1 hour in the morning and 1-3 hrs in the afternoon. he should wake up happy and not crying, or he needs more sleep. bed at 6:30PM with consistent nigthtime routine starting at 5:45PM. up at 6AM. how does this sound? We pretty much do all of that. And we tried the ferber method (which I really am not a fan of). He's been consistent with naps, usually. But just when we think he's turned a corner and is sleeping better, he regresses. [ Reply | More ]

That's a scary response without the need to be scary. Everyone has a swollen lymph node at some point with no reason for concern at all. You may have nicked yourself while shaving your leg and the lymph node is dealing with some small infection from that. It could be any of a million of things that you wouldn't normally notice, but this time you noticed. Try to relax, don't google it, and see you doctor. [ Reply | More ]
