[ - ] ivf cancelled today. i have 9 follies that were not growing at e2 dropped. would you still ttc naturally on this cycle? i have one 2 yo dd, 4 m/c (including one ectopic) although, they are not sure if it was in my tubes. anyway, part of me is scared to try naturally-- feels like ivf is my only option. abdt? or, got pregnant naturally in between cycles. 13 Replies [ Reply | Watch | More ]

I would change doctors - they triggered you to late, they should have monitored you better. How big were your follies? Go see Dr Davis at Cornell. I would also keep trying if your making more then 6 follies. GL [ Reply | More ]

I mean they let your follies grow to long and then your e2 started dropping so I guess it was techincally too late to give you the HSG trigger to ovulate. If your E2 starts to drop then your follies are not growing any more and you will ovulate before they get to retrival. If your over 40 I woul really run to Cornell to see Dr. D its worth it. He can put you on the EPP protocal to try and recruit more eggs and they monitor very very closley. What clinic are you at now? Don't stop trying until you have been to the best! [ Reply | More ]

I know of at least three people IRL, including myself, who got pg after multiple failed IVF cycles. I miscarried, but my two friends went on to deliver healthy babies. I think low responders do better ttc "naturally" to be honest, as long as tubes are open and sperm are decent. IVF is not worth the stress. So sorry, btw. I've been there. [ Reply | More ]

How important is the CTP-4 as compared the the wisc? [ Reply | More ]
General Topics 01.23.09, 06:10 PM Flag
»
the ctp 4 has information about achievement as well as ability, and it resembles the ISEE which is the test students take for entry to 6th grade. The WISC is just a test of "potential" and as such is less accurate sometimes, whereas the ctp 4 tells how a child's academic skills line up with peers. If you are interested in knowing more, do a search on UB for posts about ISEE, and you will get an idea how the ctp scores line up for school admissions(tt, lower tier, ....). The ISEE correlates very well with the independent norm group on the CTP 4. In fact that is how parents of older students can predict how their children will do on the ISEE when applying to 6th or 9th grades in NYC privates. [ Reply | More ]
General Topics 01.23.09, 06:20 PM Flag
»
once the children reach the point of applying to 6th, the required entrance test is only the ISEE, and the WISC is no longer even asked for at all. Moving towards that (maybe grades 2, 3, 4...) I would think those ctp scores would be VERY important, since they already show how the child compares on academics with peers in NYC. [ Reply | More ]
