[ - ] First time parent--ds turns 1 yr old shortly and I am freaking out about MMR vaccine at 12 months and potential autism link. Did you give your child the MMR vaccine, and what research did you do prior? 1 Reply [ Reply | Watch | More ]

you realize that the doctor who 'researched' MMR and autism has been discredited and is under investigation for ethics violation. He was preparing an MMR vaccine of his own to replace the one being given to children and paid parents to give statement on their children's problems. [ Reply | More ]

You could not get into a decent G&T last year with a score under 95, so the lowering to 90 made little difference. In District 3, even PS 166 is filled with 97+ scorers, including lots of 99's. I don't know if things will ease up this year -- it sounds like it might, due to more room. [ Reply | More ]

no flames here. just make sure the private is a good fit. many will say that they accommodate advanced learners, but don't do much, in reality, to challenge or encourage them. and even though there are a lot of high erb kids at the privates, most won't turn out to be advanced in any meaningful way. good luck! But I'm feeling like I don't have to pretend to care if dc wakes up dh who always sleeps late and does practically zero to help around the house. [ - ] I need some advice. I read some of the topics on here and it gave me some hope of figuring my mess out. My period is jumpy, it's never on the same day twice, it's went from the 5th, 10th, 13th, 15th, 18th, and now... It's 6 days late. (I've missed someday here and there, for I forgot to jot them down, also, my period, normally lasts 2-3 days.) It's important to have a good, regular gynecologist. Do you see one yet? It will be a good way to have real information and gain awareness of your self. It'll be good to go into detail without any fear you'll be judged. At 17, your period may not have settled into a set cycle or # of days between. It's good you're keeping track somewhat but it is a separate calendar for your body, not which day of the month. Ask some trusted agemates if they have, trust and like a gyn they've been to. YW.I'm very sorry to hear you lost your Mother. There is a Planned Parenthood on Mott Street(bet Houston and Bleeker Sts)if you're in nyc. Otherwise, just look up your local online and google teen gyn clinics and services for your region-they do exist. Your Dad wasn't ever a teen girl/young woman, so you have to help him take off the training wheels here. Assuming you have insurance and a regular doctor, just ask for a referral from them. Take Care. [ Reply | More ]

Schedule an appointment with your gynecologist ASAP. If you don't have one already, call your primary doctor and ask for a referral nearby. If you don't have insurance and don't want to do any of the above, look up a planned parenthood clinic in your neighborhood and go for a visit. Or go to your school nurse and ask for a referral. You should do this whether or not you are pregnant. [ Reply | More ]
