[ - ] ugh - some days i just feel like a crappy mom. i SAH in the burbs, 2 dc (3 and 1) and some days the 3 yo's incessant chattering just grates on my nerves. she's talks ALL THE TIME. follows me around the house, asking questions. 99% of the time, i love it. just on days like today, i just want to scream. it's all i can do not to snap at her. 2 Replies [ Reply | Watch | More ]

i know EXACTLY what you mean. sahm with a three dc (oldest is 5yo) and it's the 3yo that is making me nuttiest. he doesn't stop talking for a second. and if i lose my temper with him he starts sobbing and says (in total bewilderment) "why are you so mean?". and i was just complaining to dh that i want a half hour with no children talking to me and he said "sometimes you scare me". Good idea. I think it's reasonable to remove the trigger but it's too bad you were destructive, which I'm sure you don't want them to be. Good for you. This is one of the most important and difficult things to do as a parent. You are trying to teach certain values and behaviors. The kids need to see that everybody makes mistakes but that they need to apologize to move on. It also gives you a chance to clarify for them what was not ideal about your behavior so they can draw the parallel to their own. [ Reply | More ]

Check with St Ignatius Day Nursery on East 84th - we loved it there and I know they often have openings unexpectedly - you might need to wait until January to get dc started there. There is also a place on 83rd waaay East that doesn't run on a school-year schedule and has openings often. I know people in RTL who loved it there even though it's more daycare and less preschool which is not always respected on UB. [ Reply | More ]

On our return trip to NYC, we returned our Dollar car at their Denver, Colorado airport location. My husband left our camcorder under the front passenger seat. When we returned to Dollar's site 1 hr later to retrieve the camcorder, it was not there and no one at Dollar returned it. All of our children's footage from our vacation was lost. We asked the Dollar manager to announce to their employees to anonymously give back our tapes; keep the camera. Without any consequences for stealing, Dollar is allowing their employees to steal from their customers. [ Reply | More ]
